Why Do we Need to Use Social Bookmarks?

Every time we add a bookmark to one of our pages we create a backlink.

If we bookmark every piece of content this becomes a lot overtime. But goal here is to make sure that the bookmarking sites provide a real, do-follow link.

People debate as to whether or not no-follow links are still useful; however, one thing we want is a real link. Several sites don’t provide real backlinks – they use their own form of dynamic link which does buy pills online with no prescription not count as a backlink.

Technically we can bookmark anything, it could be every page of your website however I don’t recommend that. The idea behind social bookmarking is that you are sharing content with other users around the web. This is particularly important for sites with a voting component. If you bookmark junk it is really just a form of spamming!

I suggest only bookmarking your best content – blog posts, articles, tutorials, videos and other content resources.

Bookmarks and SEO

The use of this is to generate backlinks to your content pages that help them rank better in Google. We should have each piece of content optimized for some keyword. How to do that?

There are 3 places where we add this information:

• The title
• Tags
• Description

Idea is to have your keyword is in all three of them. Title usually is the anchor text that is used in the resulting link so the title is possibly is the most important element to start with.
